Would We Teach without Technology? A Professor's Experience of Teaching Mathematics Education Incorporating the Internet.
Li, Qing
Educational Research, v45 n1 p61-77 Spr 2003
Asynchronous computer-mediated discussions supplemented instruction in mathematics for 10 inservice elementary teachers. Analysis of online discourse revealed three issues: exploration of math phobia; equity in math teaching, including special needs and gender issues; and use of instructional technology. Participants were able to reflect on incorporating technology into math, although the instructor's participation tended to stifle discussion. (SK)
