"During the Break We Have Fun": A Study Concerning Pupils' Experience of School.
Alerby, Eva
Educational Research, v45 n1 p17-28 Spr 2003
Swedish 11-year-olds' (n=25) drawings depicting their school experiences were analyzed using the phenomenology of the life world. Themes were learning and knowledge, social relations, orderliness and rules, subjects, feelings, and time. The importance of friendships and teacher-student relationships, lack of input into rule making, and appreciation for learning even when school was boring were highlighted. (Contains 27 references.)
