Turner, Julianne C.; Thorpe, Pamela K.; Meyer, Debra K.
Journal of Educational Psychology, v90 n4 p758-71 Dec 1998
Investigates the self-reported relationships among fifth- and sixth-grade students' achievement goals in mathematics, their negative affects about making mistakes, and their self-regulatory beliefs and behaviors. A theory of achievement goals and affect is proposed; practical and theoretical implications of the role of negative affect in achievement motivation is discussed. (Author/GCP)
