The Influence of High School Graduation Requirement Policy in Mathematics and Science on Student Course-Taking Patterns and Achievement.
Teitelbaum, Peter
Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis, v25 n1 p31-57 Spr 2003
Studied the extent to which the requirement that students complete three credits in mathematics and science was implemented in schools using a nationally representative sample from the National Education Longitudinal Study of 1998. Evidence indicates that schools do not strictly enforce this policy. Increasing the number of credits students earn may not be enough in itself to improve student achievement. (SLD)
