Educational Policy Making in the State Legislature: Legislator as Policy Expert.
Weaver, Sue Wells; Geske, Terry G.
Educational Policy, v11 n3 p309-29 Sep 1997
Examines the legislator's role as education policy expert in the legislative policymaking process. In a study of Louisiana state legislators, analysis of variance was used to determine expert legislators' degree of influence in formulating educational policy, given differences in policy types, information sources, and legislators' work roles. Noncoercive distributive policies produced the highest potential for influence overall. (31 references) (MLH)
