Can Britain's National Curriculum Show America the Way.
Lofty, John S.
Educational Leadership, v50 n5 p52-55 Feb 1993
A widespread perception about falling standards prompted Margaret Thatcher's government to pass 1988 legislation mandating a national curriculum and accompanying testing system. Also, teachers are overwhelmed by the level of curricular detail. (eight references) (MLH)
