On Preparing Students for the World of Work: A Conversation with Willard Daggett.
O'Neil, John
Educational Leadership, v52 n8 p46-48 May 1995
Unskilled and low-level jobs are rapidly disappearing, partly through technological advances. High school graduates are functionally illiterate. The college prep curriculum is too theoretical; the vocational curriculum is more relevant, but its watered-down academics attract less capable students. To enter today's competitive job market, students must become skilled technical readers and writers. (MLH)
