Parental Rights Legislation: A Bad Idea.
Belter, Catherine A.
Educational Leadership, v55 n3 p84-86 Nov 1997
The National Parent Teacher Association acknowledges parents' primary child-rearing role, but questions the need for legislation to extend parents' constitutional rights. The laws that upset parental rights proponents are needed to protect some children from abuse and neglect. The answer lies in maximizing parent involvement and official responsiveness. (MLH)
