Aging Curriculum and Research Capacity in Schools of Social Work: A National Survey.
Lee, Ji Seon
Educational Gerontology, v28 n9 p805-15 Oct 2002
Responses from 87 of 140 accredited master's programs in social work indicated that 81.6% offered courses in aging; 51.7% of schools offered doctorates, but only 8% of doctoral programs had aging courses. Although most felt research was important, only 32 schools had an aging center/institute; many cited lack of faculty knowledge about aging as a barrier (Contains 16 references.) (SK)
