Interaction in the Intergenerational Freshman Class: What Matters.
Faust, Debra Fair; Courtenay, Bradley C.
Educational Gerontology, v28 n5 p401-22 May 2002
A study of six traditional-age and four adult (over 25) college freshmen showed that (1) classroom physical structure influenced participation and interaction; (2) social climate and instructor's expectations and teaching style influenced participation; and (3) discussion patterns hindered some students' participation. Results were the same for traditional and nontraditional students. (Contains 40 references.) (JOW)
