The Impact of School-to-Work and Career and Technical Education in the United States: Evidence from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, 1997.
Stone, James R., III
Journal of Vocational Education & Training, v54 n4 p533-78 2002
Using National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1997 data, participation in school-to-work and career and technical education (CTE) between 1996-97 and 1998-99 was examined. There was a trend toward less participation in activities identified as school-to-work and an increase in the proportion of CTE concentrators. There was little socioeconomic effect and the number of math/science courses did not predict school-to-work participation. (Contains 30 references.) (SK)
