Comparison of Two Methods of Teaching Word-Processing Skills to Persons with Mental Retardation.
Lifshitz, Hefziba
Education and Training in Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, v34 n1 p90-98 Mar 1999
This study compared the effectiveness of two intervention approaches, task analysis and cognitive strategy, for imparting the first stages of word-processing skills to adults with mild to moderate mental retardation. Instruction in basic text-typing and paragraph transfer to 25 participants found that both methods were effective but that, for some tasks, the cognitive approach was preferred. (Author/DB)
