Students, Please Turn to YouTube for Your Assignments
Johnson, Graham
Education Canada, v52 n5 2012
Using the Flipped Classroom approach, the teacher "flips" the presentation of the material, the lesson, to non-class time by preparing a video that compresses the material and posting it on a website, such as YouTube, which the students can view at home or anywhere they choose. The teacher, in this case a Math teacher, is then free to use classroom time to move from student to student, engaging them in discussion on the content, questioning them about their reasoning, and listening to their ideas about mathematics. It is the students' responsibility to pace themselves and meet the deadlines the teacher has set in place.
