Examines aspects of pitch discrimination among listeners. Presents musical tones containing modulated frequencies to 30 musician and nonmusician participants. Uses a tone matching task to determine the discrimination of subjects. Matches a generated tone to a simultaneous tone performed with vibrato. Finds a significant difference among musicians and nonmusicians regarding pitch location. (NL)
