The rationale for this investigation was derived in part from the increasing number of teacher walk-outs and strikes during the past five years which have involved conspicuous numbers of female teachers. A broad range of questions were asked to identify those variables which might lead to role dysfunctionalism or which constitute career contingencies among female teachers. (Author)
