A programed unit on triangle constructions using an information processing prescriptive model was compared to a traditional model. The experimental group scored significantly higher on a retention test. (MP)

To determine the role of student writing in nontraditional life/experience credentialing programs, a questionnaire was compiled and results surveyed from nearly 50 such programs. A comparison study between the 371 graduates of FIU's External Degree Program and a randomly-selected sample of graduates from the traditional on-campus degree programs is reported. Although numbers might not tell the full story, they reveal important patterns of disadvantage among youths, and suggest the magnitude of youth unemployment.
