Integrating Middle School Curriculum: A Two-Tiered Development Model.
Tucker, Brooke; And Others
Research in Middle Level Education Quarterly, v19 n1 p43-58 Fall 1995
Describes a two-tiered model for integrating middle school curriculum. In the parallel model, content area instructors teach individual content separately, integrating subject matter whenever logical connections occur between disciplines. In the integrated thematic model, thematic units allow deliberate, in-depth integration. Combining these allows students to address content areas within a scope and sequence of skill development.
