The National Science Curriculum and the Changing Nature of Geological Fieldwork in UK Schools: Some Implications for Site Conservation Policy, Planning and Development.
Fisher, John A.
International Journal of Environmental Education and Information, v14 n4 p385-92 Oct-Dec 1995
Discusses changes in the methods of earth science fieldwork brought about by the introduction of the National Curriculum to UK schools. Teachers have traditionally described and interpreted geology for pupils. Teachers now need accessible, safe sites close to schools. The sites must allow pupils to identify problems for themselves and solve them using a range of scientific concepts and skills. (PVD)
