Eighth graders (n=85) listed responses to scenario involving offer of ride to party with possibly inebriated driver. Accident risk was mentioned by 74% of students. Nonsmokers and nondrinkers more frequently mentioned various risks, uncertainties about party activities, and interpersonal influences. Smokers and drinkers more frequently mentioned attractions to party and internal influences. (Author/NB)
