Teachers' Implicit Theories of Intelligence and Their Educational Goals.
Lynott, Donna-Jean; Woolfolk, Anita E.
Journal of Research and Development in Education, v27 n4 p253-64 Sum 1994
Two studies analyzed structure and content of teachers' theories of intelligence, noting relationships between theories and educational goals. Teachers provided lists of behaviors characterizing intelligent persons. Other teachers rated characteristics and educational goals using those behaviors. Teachers based intelligence on conceptual thinking and practical knowledge. Their beliefs were related to their goals for students. (SM)
