An Evaluation of the Effects of College Alcohol Education on the Prevention of Negative Consequences.
Meacci, William G.
Journal of Alcohol and Drug Education, v35 n3 p66-72 Spr 1990
Examined alcohol awareness education courses taught at five college campuses. Administered pre-, post-, and learning retention tests to college freshmen and sophomores (N=703) to evaluate correlation of variables in knowledge-responsibility-consequences model and effects of alcohol education on consequences. Findings showed alcohol education significantly improved knowledge, but failed to influence responsible attitudes and reduce negative consequences. (Author/PVV)
