Should Physical Education Majors Have Their Fitness Levels Assessed?
Melville, D. Scott; Jones, Darlene
Journal of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, v61 n1 p30-32 Jan 1990

Other data support a seemingly low priority on ensuring this aspect of student preparation. Physical fitness standards should be designed as screening and exit goals for physical education majors.
