Family Involvement in Early Intervention: Accepting the Unchangeable, Changing the Changeable, and Knowing the Difference.
Brinker, Richard P.
Topics in Early Childhood Special Education, v12 n3 p307-32 Fall 1992
Three criticisms of family-centered models of early intervention for individuals with disabilities are put forth: the definition of family is indeterminate; early interventionists bring their own conceptions of the meaning of family to their work; and empirical research about family processes and their relationship to individuals' development is inadequate to guide interventions.
