The author introduces, through personal narrative, the idea that the experience of counseling another person can create "counseling endorphins" and invites other mental health professionals to enter into a dialogue about the possibility of a counseling "high" and about how to design research to explore this phenomenon. Ideas concerning giftedness in young children were examined in this qualitative multisite case study with four experienced primary (kindergarten and first grade) teachers. Findings indicated that teachers saw two dimensions to giftedness: classroom performance and affective style. (Author/DB)
