Study examined the curricular structure of doctoral programs at research and doctoral grant institutions, analyzing the job market and assessing the overall compatibility of preparation with college employment needs. Results suggest there is too much overspecialization in doctoral study, and institutions are not graduating for a realistic college job market. (SM)
