College Students' Reactions to a Designated Driver Program: An Exploratory Study.

College fraternity members (n=29) participated in a designated driver program in which one member volunteered to remain abstinent and serve as driver for his companions. Participation, either as driver or passenger, did not affect enjoyment of the social occasions. Subjects neglected to choose a driver on a number of occasions, and some drivers reported being nonabstinent. (ABL)
