In 1990, U.S. youth and adult leaders in school-based prevention programs traveled to former Soviet Union to share information and stimulate continued international exchange to prevent alcohol misuse. Program components included pretravel study of former Soviet alcohol problems, program visits, youth group discussions, pilot survey, dialogue with former Soviet health specialists and educators, televised talk show, and homestays.
