Patterns of Alcohol Consumption among Suburban Adolescent Black High School Students.
Beck, Kenneth H.; Zannis, Marie
Journal of Alcohol and Drug Education, v37 n2 p1-13 Win 1992
Surveyed 392 African-American and 1,173 white students in middle class, suburban high school. Compared to whites, African Americans reported drinking smaller quantities of alcohol less frequently, were more likely to be nondrinkers and to report never having been drunk; and were less likely to drive while drunk or to use alcohol for relief of pain, stress, or sleeplessness.
