Discusses the benefits of research on physical education teacher education professors. Conceptual and methodological limitations are evident in previous research. Developing literature on professors, career theory, and occupational socialization theory suggests a conceptual framework for future research. This framework invites four methodological perspectives (autobiographical, developmental, longitudinal, and action oriented). (SM)
