Cardiac and Visual Responses to Moving Stimuli Presented Either Successively or Simultaneously to the Central and Peripheral Fields in 4-Month-Old Infants.
Finlay, David; Ivinskis, Algis
Developmental Psychology, v20 n1 p29-36 Jan 1984
Compares the responses of four-month-olds in two situations, one in which a moving peripheral stimulus follows a central fixation stimulus and another where the peripheral stimulus is simultaneous with the central fixation. Simultaneous presentation decreases visual orientation to the peripheral stimulus, but cardiac data indicate that the peripheral stimulus is still being detected. (Author/CB)
