Administered measures of negative and positive life experiences and psychological distress to early adolescents on two occasions about 5 months apart. Results are reported and compared with previous studies of adult life events and suggest importance of ongoing stressful processes as engendering both maladjustment and stressful events in lives of early adolescents.
