Comprehension and Production of Standard and Black English by Lower-Class Black Children
Gay, Judy; Tweney, Ryan D.
Developmental Psychology, 12, 3, 262-268, May 76

The results indicated that comprehension of both easy and hard contrasts in both black and standard English increased with age in a parallel fashion, but that the production of black English decreased with age.
