Memorial Consequences of Forced Confabulation: Age Differences in Susceptibility to False Memories.
Ackil, Jennifer K.; Zaragoza, Maria S.
Developmental Psychology, v34 n6 p1358-72 Nov 1998
First graders, fourth and fifth graders, and college students watched a video and then answered questions about events in the video and about events that never happened. One week later, subjects were again questioned about the video. Participants in all age groups, though children more so than adults, exhibited false memories for the events that never happened. (BC)
