Axia, Giovanna; Bonichini, Sabrina; Benini, Franca
Developmental Psychology, v35 n2 p500-04 Mar 1999
Examined whether early individual differences in look duration were related to general mechanisms of the infant nervous system combining attention and emotion. Found significant positive correlations between attention measures and duration of facial expressions of pain/distress after vaccinations at 3, 5, and 11 months. Concluded that individual differences combining pain and attention control can be identified from early infancy. (Author/KB)
