Brennan, Patricia A.; Hammen, Constance; Anderson, Margaret J.; Bor, William; Najiman, Jake M.; Williams, Gail M.
Developmental Psychology, v36 n6 p759-66 Nov 2000
Examined relationships between severity, chronicity, and timing of maternal depressive symptoms and child outcomes for 4,953 children. Found that severity and chronicity of maternal depressive symptoms were related to more behavior problems and lower vocabulary scores. Interaction of severity and chronicity related to higher levels of behavior problems. More recent depressive symptoms related to higher child behavior problem rates. (Author/KB)
