Developmental Trajectories of Childhood Disruptive Behaviors and Adolescent Delinquency: A Six-Site, Cross-National Study.
Broidy, Lisa M.; And Others
Developmental Psychology, v39 n2 p222-45 Mar 2003
Data from 6 sites in 3 countries were examined to determine developmental course of physical aggression in childhood and to analyze linkages to violent and nonviolent offending outcomes in adolescence. Findings indicated that among boys, chronic physical aggression during elementary school years increased risk for continued physical violence and other nonviolent forms of delinquency during adolescence. There was no clear linkage between childhood aggression and adolescent offending among female samples. (Author/KB)
