A Century of Evolution in Comparative Studies.
King, Edmund
Comparative Education, v36 n3 p267-77 Aug 2000
Since 1900, comparative studies of education have progressed from copying "advanced" nations' systems for the elite, to considering cultural contexts, social inclusiveness, and wider cultivation of competencies. Computerized information technologies have rendered education increasingly interactive, accessible, and free. The study of such revolutionary challenges to the entire learning and teaching process in an unforeseeable world is comparative education's prime commitment. (TD)
