The European Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students (ERASMUS) supports faculty exchanges as part of regular cooperation among European universities. Survey of 485 faculty receiving grants to lecture abroad in 1990-91 examined participant characteristics, arrangement of the teaching visit, obstacles to planned exchanges, travel costs, administrative procedures, academic activities abroad, and perceived outcomes and satisfaction.
