Mending the Rift between Full and Part-Time Faculty.
Tyree, Larry W.; Grunder, Pat; O'Connell, April
Community College Journal, v70 n4 p24-28 Feb-Mar 2000
Addresses the need to improve the working conditions of part-time faculty by referring to Maslow's Hierarchy of Human Needs (1954), which includes physiological, safety and security, love and belongingness, esteem, cognitive, aesthetic, and self-actualizing needs. Calls for "overarching initiatives" that need to be undertaken on behalf of part-time faculty. Includes ideas for creating a Standing Committee for Adjunct Faculty Affairs and an Adjunct Advocate position. (VWC)
