Breeden, Kenneth H.
Community College Journal, v72 n6 p36-39 Jun-Jul 2002
This article talks about Certified Manufacturing Specialist (CMS), a Georgia training program that has successfully addressed the needs of both students and partners in business and industry. The program helped business reduce the learning curve for new employees; improved productivity, quality, and safety; reduced material waste; eased the transition to new equipment and technology; and enhanced cooperation and teamwork. In addition, CMS training increased the ability of employees to contribute more to quality improvement by enhancing their understanding of business operations and goals.
