Community colleges do not represent a dumping ground or dead-end for blacks and other minorities. Rather, they provide in many instances the only opportunity for minority students to obtain postsecondary schooling. Response of the community college to the needs of minority students has been far greater than that of senior institutions. If community colleges can provide quality education to minorities, their value and relevancy vis-a-vis senior institutions will be unquestioned. (JDS)
