Avoiding Community Colleges: Students Who Attend Proprietary Vocational Schools.

Examines the characteristics of proprietary business school students in Los Angeles and their reasons for attending proprietary schools rather than other postsecondary institutions, drawing from interviews with 90 students attending 3 schools. Describes the students as relatively immature, from blue-collar/low-income families, with above average scholastic records, but unrealistic educational goals. (DMM)
