Discusses the effects of economic, racial, and age diversification of suburbia; societal and institutional racism; reduction of college funding; and high minority dropout rates on community colleges. Suggests that colleges need new ways of collecting and analyzing data and two-way communication with their publics to reexamine how resources, particularly technological resources, are distributed and used.
