Communication Apprehension and Self-Perceived Communication Competence of Academically Gifted Students.
Rosenfeld, Lawrence B.; And Others
Communication Education, v44 n1 p79-86 Jan 1995
Finds that, compared to national norms, students who are academically successful are significantly lower on communication apprehension in dyadic contexts and group contexts, and significantly higher on self-perceived communication competence with strangers. Suggests that key communication variables affecting academic success might be: apprehension about speaking in groups, and self-perceived competency in speaking to strangers. (SR)
