This paper attempts to determine the impact a building's physical design and structure has on student/resident perceptions of residence hall staff effectiveness. Results indicate that residents living in "isolated" rooms reacted less favorably to the staff than those in normal traffic areas. (Author/HMV)

Surveyed 50 resident assistants and 46 dormitory residents in the fall and spring to examine changes in their perceptions of the resident assistant's role. Results showed that, while a substantial number of RA functions became less important to both groups over the year, supervisory functions became more important. (JAC)

Examined the perceived effects of holding a resident assistant position on the lives of former resident assistants (N=59) 5-20 years later.
