Is TQM Appropriate for the Classroom?
Beaver, William
College Teaching, v42 n3 p111-14 Sum 1994
The author argues that Total Quality Management (TQM), in its entirety, is inappropriate for college instruction because the organizational cultures of a college and a corporation differ. Additionally, in a classroom, student contributions are as important as the teacher's, and the student, as "customer," may not know what quality instruction is. (MSE)
