Service Learning: Brochure Writing for Basic Level College Students.

Describes a six-week summer program for disadvantaged college-bound students in which students created and wrote the content for a health education brochure as part of a workshop which integrated basic reading. writing, science, and mathematics. The brochure was then used by the students in a community service learning activity. Evaluation indicated the program improved participants' basic skills. (DB)
