The Pre-Professional Elementary Educators' Knowledge and Opinions Regarding Child Abuse.

An instrument was administered to 104 elementary education majors. Findings include that subjects: (1) recognize that the problem of child abuse exists; (2) believe most teachers are not equipped to deal with child abuse, but expect victims of abuse in their classrooms; and (3) lack a clear understanding of referrals.
