Program Characteristics and the Use of Student Data to Predict Attrition from Doctoral Programs.

Analysis of the data suggests that program characteristics such as length, stability, and analytic orientation appear to affect the predictive validity of admission criteria to doctoral programs. Also, high-ability older students in this sample were more likely to complete the doctorate than their younger peers. (Author)
