The Relationship between Religious Orientation, Gender, and Drinking Patterns among Catholic College Students.
Templin, Daniel P.; Martin, Michael J.
College Student Journal, v33 n4 p488-95 Dec 1999
Roman Catholic college students (n=277) completed the religious orientation scale and the student alcohol questionnaire. Findings indicated that for females there was a significant inverse relationship between intrinsic religiosity and both alcohol consumption and problems experienced due to drinking. There were no significant relationships between religious orientation and drinking behaviors for males. (Author/DB)
